Hilton Honors Business Amex Welcome Bonus
Right now there is an ‘enhanced’ Welcome bonus, instead of 130,000 Hilton Honors Points on a $6000 spend within the first 6 months of account opening, you can get 175,000 Hilton Honors Points on a $8000 spend.
You have to sign up before January 14, 2026 for this offer.
How much does 175,000 Hilton Honors Points get you? Well, you would add at least another 40,000 points from the $8000 in purchases (x 5 for bonus Hilton points) for a total of 215,000 Hilton Honors Points with this welcome bonus. You could get a 5 night stay (paying four nights with points gets you a fifth night free) at the Hilton Ambassodor in Waikiki, Honolulu. Normally this is at least $250 USD a night or a total of $1200 USD for 5 nights.
So you would save $1200 USD for five nights in Honolulu.
Earning Hilton Honors Points
You can get 12x the points on any purchases at a Hilton property.
And you can get 5x the points on any purchase up to $100,000 spend on other purchases in a calendar year. After that it is 3x the points per $1 spent.
That’s pretty generous, though Hilton points are not ‘worth’ as much compared to another hotel loyalty program like Marriott Bonvoy.
Hilton Points are valued at about 0.5 cents a piece per Business Insider, but there are ways to stretch that out a bit more, like booking 4 nights and getting the 5th night free.
Using the option “Points and Money” helps stretch your Hilton points out a little more too.
Hilton Honors Business Amex Benefits
Complimentary Gold Status- Hilton Gold Status gives you complimentary breakfast or a daily Food and Beverage Credit (if you are staying at Hilton in the United States). Here’s a list of Hilton hotels with the breakfast or food and beverage credit.
$240 Hilton Credit. It is given as a $60 Hilton credit each quarter when you spend a Hilton property, resetting on January, April, July, and October. This pretty much offsets the annual fee (and then some).
Potential for Diamond Status with $40,000 minimum spend. There is the potential for Hilton Diamond Status with a $40,000 minimum spend. This is quite a high spend but Diamond status can give you some pretty amazing upgrades, I heard.
No foreign transaction fees. There are no foreign transaction fees charged, which can save you about 2.5%.
National Car Rental Emerald Club Executive Status. You can get a free rental (after a certain number of car rental days) and Emerald Aisle access (choose from mid-size and up but pay only mid-size).
Annual Fee
The annual fee recently changed and it is $195 USD.
Genymoney.ca’s Verdict
If you’re trying to earn Hilton Honors points this is a pretty decent card for the welcome bonus. After that though, the ongoing utility is still decent as you can get $240 worth of Hilton credit for $195, which would mean you are positive $45 if you use all the credits.
Unfortunately $60 USD in Hilton credit doesn’t get you very far these days, but it is better than nothing. At least you could enjoy some food at the hotel restaurant if you are there, or you could deduct $60 from the cost of your stay.
You can also get Hilton Honors Gold status just by having this card which can be helpful if you are wanting complimentary breakfast or food and beverage credits. This can really add up.
